The Advanced Manufacturing Implementation Team is focused on leveraging strengths in the Bakersfield-Kern region’s existing sectors to grow advanced manufacturing subclusters in chemicals, plastic, metalworking, machinery and food.
Our Advanced Manufacturing goals are to:
- Explore and respond to the specific acceleration needs of manufacturing firms, especially those with middle-market expansion opportunities
- Use our favorable infrastructure, land use and location strengths to attract businesses to expand or relocate

The Manufacturers’ Alliance of Kern (MAK) was formed in early 2022 to bring together industry leaders and increase our regional manufacturing growth.
