Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is crucial in the creation of Quality Jobs. The B3K Market Assessment found that while Kern County excels at launching new firms, most locally founded businesses fail to mature and create significant jobs.

The Entrepreneurship Implementation Team is devoted to supporting the dynamism and competitiveness of local firms by creating an ecosystem of resources and supports to help incubate and scale new businesses. Doing so will ensure future innovation stays in our county and drives economic growth.

Our goals for Entrepreneurship and Business Supports include:

  • Scaling entrepreneurship resources to community needs in order to engage more people in business services
  • Providing ease of access to capital and other fundamentals for start-ups for entrepreneurs in disadvantaged communities
  • Establishing dedicated incubators and accelerators to bring more ideas and innovations to life in the region.

The Entrepreneurship Implementation Team is led by:
John Paul Lake, B3K Executive Director
