B3K Prosperity, California Forward partner to host upcoming Regional Energy Listening Session
Hybrid event seeks public feedback on California Forward’s Energy Call to Action

Bakersfield, Calif. (July 20, 2023) – B3K Prosperity (B3K) today announced it is partnering with California Forward (CA FWD) to host a public Regional Energy Listening Session on Thurs., Aug. 10, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The hybrid event will take place in-person at CSU Bakersfield alongside a virtual event hosted via Zoom. The event is open to the public, and there is no cost to participate.

Lake, B3K Executive Director. “This listening session provides our local stakeholders–including energy workers whose livelihoods are at stake–a much-needed opportunity to contribute to conversations taking place in Sacramento and throughout California about how to sustainably meet our energy needs while promoting inclusive growth and prosperity for every Californian.”
The Listening Session will include an overview of the CA FWD Energy Call to Action, a brief moderated panel discussion and an interactive breakout session. During the breakout session, participants will be asked to share feedback, reactions and questions they’d like to see answered.
“Our Bakersfield-Kern listening session gives us the opportunity for a regions-up approach to inclusive economic growth and prosperity, which helps improve our ability to advocate for sustainable growth for all Californians,” said Ismael (Ish) Herrera, Interim CEO at CA FWD. “As the state continues to chart a path toward carbon neutrality, this Listening Session will provide regional context on California’s energy landscape and inform actions that support a sustainable, equitable and reliable energy system.”
The B3K x CA FWD Regional Energy Listening Session is the fourth and final in a series of similar events held throughout the state. Following the Bakersfield-Kern session, CA FWD plans to release a report on feedback to complement its 2022 Energy Call to Action. The Energy Call to Action was released in conjunction with the 2022 California Economic Summit, hosted in Bakersfield, Calif.
